Great Spring Activities for Kids
Flowers, Flowers, and More Flowers
The first weekend of Spring, we always head to the local nursery and the kids get to pick out flowers to take care of. The kids love picking out their own, then we come home and they get to plant them on their own and it's their responsibility to water and care for them. Not only do the kids love it and it makes the house look great, but it teaches them a lesson.
Growing their Own Food
In addition to flowers, the kids get their own section in the garden where they can plant whatever they want. They take such great pride in taking care of their plants and love it when it comes time to harvest. They love the fresh reward that has come from all of their hard work.
Picnic in the Park
We pack up lunch, soccer balls, scooters, and whatever else to head to the park for the day. It's a great way to spend time together as a family and enjoy the beautiful weather. It's nice chatting on the grass having lunch and having family soccer games.
Before the weather reaches a million degrees, we spend as much time as possible outside, whether it's hiking, spending a day at the lake, star gazing at night, or jumping in the creek. Nature has it's own playground and we make the most of every minute.
Of course, there's also water balloons, BBQs, bike rides, and so much more. What are some of your favorite Spring activities for kids and the whole family?
