Kids Corner: Easy Home Volcanoes

These easy home volcanoes are another one of my children's favorite little science experiments. I love them because they make the kids happy, and you already have everything you need right in the kitchen.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Empty water bottles-- (one for each kid)
  • Vinegar
  • Baking Soda
*Tip* Do it outside on a nice day because it's messy!

Here's what you do:

1. Wash out your water bottles.
2. Pour in some baking soda (the more you use the bigger the eruption)
3. Pour in the vinegar and back up!

I give my kids measuring cups with the ingredients so they can do it on their own. Also, my kids like to put the water bottle lids on and give them a little shake...but be warned, they will end up smelling like vinegar for the day.

These easy home volcanoes are perfect for summer and spring days when the kids get bored. You have everything you need right in your kitchen. Plus, what kid doesn't love explosions and messes?

What science experiments does your family enjoy?
